The Consortium

C.L.E.A.R. is a consortium that consists of 40+ and growing farming, food and civic society organisations and businesses. We represent a diverse range of ecological, social, and governance interests and expertise.

We are the voice of agroecology.

We believe that food should be produced in harmony with ecological processes to minimise our collective adverse socio ecological impacts and to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change.

Each member of the consortium lends their voice to promote the importance of regulating food labelling. As a consortium we work towards ensuring that method-of-production data that shows the whole production cycle,  starting at farm level right through to the final manufacturing process, becomes the mandatory information that underpins food labelling in the UK.

In the coming months, we will be working with our members to highlight the risks and opportunities in existing voluntary labelling initiatives - technical gaps, potential signals to consumers and business, economic, social and ecological implications, and risks from consumer distrust.
